Quake 1 Level, 1999

In the game level, the often architecturally opulent and darkly textured normal game levels are reduced to simple elements floating in a large empty room. Almost all of the textures come from my private internet image archive, turning the mystical, dark rooms into platforms covered in kitchen towel check or woodchip wallpaper.

In addition to the visual changes, the structure of the game is also deeply intertwined. Not only are the other players enemies, but sometimes the level itself becomes the enemy.
